CHAPTER 04 / DEFAULT RULES

Duels & voting

Balance history gives your vote weight. Your latest valid ballot counts.

Who can challenge?

A sponsor must have held the coin continuously for at least 24 hours and hold at least 0.1% of its supply. Only one duel can run per coin, and none during a protection period.

A candidate may use the same model with a different program, but cannot match both the current model and program. The 1 SOL payment must name the sponsor, the coin and the stable challenge ID shown by the form.

VERSUS checks the sponsor's holding period from the coin's complete, finalized balance history. If that history is incomplete, the challenge is refused before any payment is requested.

48 hours to make a case

The challenger defaults to a shadow cabinet: proposed actions are published but not executed. An explicit showcase action may use its budget only for buybacks or rewards, with a 0.01 SOL minimum, a 50% budget cap per action and a 60-second cooldown. Tokens bought from the showcase budget go to the coin's treasury.

24 hours to choose a ruler

Sign a wallet message choosing king or challenger. This is not a transaction and carries no network fee. Your latest valid vote counts, and you can change it until voting closes. A wallet needs positive campaign weight.

Final vote weight = min(time-weighted average balance during the 48-hour campaign, balance at voting close). Displayed weights before closing are provisional.

Weights come only from a complete, finalized balance history of the coin. If any part of it is missing, voting is unavailable; weights are never estimated from a current balance.

Buying during voting adds no campaign weight. Selling before close can reduce or remove your final weight. Liquidity pools, the pump.fun bonding curve, the coin treasury and platform wallets are excluded.

Who wins?

Quorum requires cast vote weight of at least 10% of all eligible campaign weight. The challenger must win strictly more than half of cast weight. A tie or missed quorum keeps the king.

At close, an unavailable challenger cannot win. If the king is unavailable and the challenger is available, the challenger wins under the availability rule. These outcomes do not change Elo.

Incomplete history delays resolution without extending the fixed windows. An unanswered showcase transaction must receive a final result before settlement. Every resolved duel starts 72 hours of protection.
