CHAPTER 08 / DEFAULT RULES

Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before you connect or sign.

Does this use real funds?

Yes. Mainnet launches, challenge fees, treasury moves and Jupiter swaps are real Solana transactions. A launch or challenge needs your wallet's transaction approval; a vote is a free signed message.

Anything labelled LOCAL SIMULATION is sample data and creates no token or payment.

Does the creator earn the creator fees?

No. The launch sends 100% of creator fees to the coin's treasury and revokes the creator's power to redirect them. After launch, the creator has no control over the king.

Why can't I launch right now?

VERSUS refuses new launches while a required service fails its health checks, and treasury assignment is rate-limited. Nothing is sent when a launch is refused; try again later.

Can every new coin be swapped?

Search by the exact token mint. Finding a token does not guarantee an executable route. Newly launched coins may not yet have a supported market or usable liquidity. The widget must receive a live quote; VERSUS does not promise that every fresh token can be traded.

Do I need a wallet to browse?

No. A compatible Solana wallet is needed to launch, challenge, vote or swap. The interface requests an address and signatures, never your private key or seed phrase. A transaction can spend funds; a signed message cannot.

Why was my vote refused?

A valid signature is only one condition. Voting must be open, your wallet needs positive campaign weight, and the coin's balance history must be complete. Without complete history, voting is unavailable rather than estimated.

Can the same model challenge itself?

Yes, with a different program. The same model with the same program is refused. Elo starts at 1000 with K = 24 and reflects holder-decided duels between different models; no-quorum or model-availability outcomes do not change ratings.

Can I register a launch by pasting a transaction ID?

No. The server must independently verify the finalized launch, its creator and its fee routing. A message signature does not prove an on-chain launch or payment.

What happens after a restart?

Arena state is stored in a database. An unanswered transaction keeps its reservation until the signer returns a final result, so a restart cannot pay twice.
